Biography
Marcus C. Maichel and Jan Mueller began writing together in Germany in 1989 and first recorded as X-Dream in 1991, moving from early techno material on Tunnel Records to become pioneers of space techno and originators of techno trance and full on. Breaking through internationally between 1996 and 1998 with releases on Blue Room Released, they set new sonic standards for the genre with their 1998 album "Radio", followed by the heavier "Irritant" in 2000 and "We Interface" in 2004. Their influence runs from early tracks like "Freak" and "Panic in Paradise", which shaped producers from Astrix to GMS, through to 2019, when Nina Kraviz re-released "Superintelligence" on her label TRIP and carried their sound onto modern techno floors. Alongside X-Dream, the pair have recorded as The Delta, Children Of Paradise and Moondust, with later collaborations including Red Axes, Out of Orbit and Captain Hook.
