Transwave

Transwave is the collaboration between Christof Drouillet (Absolum) and Frédéric Holyszewski (Deedrah), two producers whose paths crossed at a Paris rave in June 1994. Three months later came their debut Datura EP on French label Transpact, the first move in a run that would yield five albums — Hypnorhythm (1995), Helium (1996), Phototropic (1996), Backfire (2005) and Frontfire (2007) — and help define the golden sound of the '90s Goa era. Built on an analog-heavy setup anchored by the Roland SH-101 and TB-303, their work stood alongside Astral Projection, Hallucinogen, X-Dream and Man With No Name, while the anthem "Land of Freedom" became an international trance classic, later remixed by Liquid Soul and charted by Armin van Buuren. A cornerstone of psychedelic trance history, Transwave shaped the genre and continues to inspire new generations.
